Sage Line 100/MMS EDI-Link

An increasing number of large companies use EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) as a standard way of transacting with their suppliers.  This is especially so in the retail sector. In many cases they even make the use of EDI compulsory.

However, a number of the suppliers are small to medium sized organisations for whom Sage is the appropriate financial management system.  Yet Sage doesn’t have an EDI capability as standard.  In the past this has meant manual re-keying which wastes resources and risk data corruption.

To solve this problem Dayta Designs has engineered Sage Line 100/MMS EDI-Link - a software tool that interfaces between Sage Line 100/MMS and the EDI manager software of leading application providers such as Kewill, GXS and We-Supply.  The data flow between the systems can be seen in the illustration below.

Sage Line 100/MMS EDI-Link Features

  • Automatic processing of incoming Sales Orders and outgoing Invoices, as well as the ability to generate Advanced Shipping Notices (ASN).
  • Translation tables to map your customer’s codes for delivery and products to your own. The software also handles barcode translation to your Sage product codes.
  • ‘SAP Tracking’ can be enabled through automatic matching of the number of lines on the Invoice/ASN to the original Sales Order.
  • Exception handling can be configured where acceptable anomalies exist, such as mismatching on batch quantities and Sage’s ‘quantities per pack’.
  • Orders are validated for customer codes, credit limits and available stock levels - including holding orders for customers on ’stop’.
  • Sage Sales ledger is automatically updated as part of  successful transactions.
